HOUSE TO VOTE TODAY ON BILL TO LET BUSH ADMINISTRATION FIX MEDICARE PAYMENT MISTAKE

The U.S. House of Representatives is expected to vote late today on H.R. 5063, a bill that includes a provision to enable the Bush Administration to fix the Medicare physician payment mistake and avert drastic cuts in Medicare physician payments that are threatening access to care for America's seniors.

HHS CREATES UNIFIED HIV/AIDS AND STD ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO STRENGTHEN PREVENTION AND TREATMENT EFFORTS

HHS Secretary Tommy G. Thompson today announced the creation of a new, unified HIV/AIDS and STD prevention and treatment advisory committee to strengthen collaboration in these activities throughout the department.



The House Rules Committee approved language regarding Medicare physician payments as part of an armed forces tax bill reported out by the panel last night (Nov. 13) and expected to be taken up by the House today.
