Portman, Warner Reintroduce Bill To Streamline Employer Reporting

Sens. Mark Warner (D-VA) and Rob Portman (R-OH) this week reintroduced legislation that aims to strike a balance between collecting accurate information on employer coverage and lessening the reporting burden about which employers of all sizes have complained. The Commonsense Reporting Act (S. 1908) would require the Treasury Department to set up a prospective reporting system that lets employers voluntarily report coverage information prior to open enrollment in order to minimize paperwork on the back-end.
