NASHP Floats Model PBM Oversight Legislation For States

A non-partisan forum of state health policymakers has written model legislation for states lawmakers who want to increase oversight of pharmaceutical benefit managers. The template bill, which culls provisions from several dozen state bills, includes state licensing, fiduciary responsibility, rebate transparency and limits on patient out-of-pocket costs. The National Academy for State Health Policy urges states to use the bill as a framework to enact their own PBM oversight laws, noting that only one state's PBM law has been challenged...
