The House on Thursday (Sept. 11) in a 247-167 vote passed legislation that allows group market coverage that was available in 2013 to stay on the market through 2018, even if those plans don't comply with the ACA's market reforms. Twenty-five Democrats joined 222 Republicans in supporting the legislation but the White House issued a veto threat, saying the bill would “roll back the progress made because of the Affordable Care Act.”
The legislation, sponsored by Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), goes beyond the Obama administration's plan cancellation fix.
