CMS Extends Prior Authorization For Non-Emergency Ambulance Trips

CMS on Monday (Sept. 16) announced a one-year extension of the prior authorization demonstration for repetitive, scheduled non-emergency ambulance transportation. The program will now run through Dec. 1, 2020. The demonstration applies to D.C., Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
