CMS’ Potential AOM Pilot Comes After Medicaid Plans Pitched Voluntary Coverage

A five-year pilot program reportedly under consideration by CMS that would allow Medicaid programs to voluntarily cover GLP-1s for obesity starting in 2026, and Medicare plans the following year, could be a boost to manufacturers as state-level coverage stalls, and comes after Medicaid plans pitched a similar idea.
