CMS Pushes Hospitals To Re-Up Provider Protections As Violence Spikes

CMS on Monday (Nov. 28) reminded hospitals of their responsibility to protect health care workers in their workplaces as rates of violence against health care providers spike and drive resignations. CMS notes it has cited hospitals in the past for failing to train its employees properly or promote a safe environment for patients and staff, and says it will continue to enforce its regulatory expectations if the situation demands it.
