CMS Extends Hip-And-Knee Replacement Demonstration For 3 Years

CMS on Thursday (April 29) finalized an extension of the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement demonstration and said results from the additional three years of testing could justify expanding the demonstration under a revised pay method. While Premier was pleased with the extension, the health system is disappointed that the extension will only apply to hospitals in the mandatory portions of the demonstration.
