Broad-Based Health Coalition Calls For Reinsurance, 1332 Changes

A broad-based health care stakeholder coalition is urging congressional leaders to quickly enact policies that would shore up the individual health insurance market, including creating a federal reinsurance program and providing seed money for state reform efforts. The Council for Affordable Health Coverage is also urging Congress to make changes to the 1332 waiver process, including allowing a state to lessen requirements in one coverage category as long as the state can show overall improvements.
