Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) highlighted a need for new legislation -- going beyond efforts he proposed with Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) that would remove a longstanding liability shield for tech companies -- to protect children from artificial intelligence chatbots after multiple suicides were linked AI bots posing as mental health professionals.
