CMS Reverses Course, Allows Virtual Supervision Of Telehealth Visits By Residents

Reversing course on formal and informal guidance given to providers in the waning weeks of the public health emergency, CMS said in a May 12 FAQ it will exercise enforcement discretion and allow teaching physicians to virtually supervise residents’ telehealth visits until the end of 2023 while the agency completes further rulemaking.
