The year-end omnibus spending deal unveiled Tuesday (Dec. 20) includes myriad provisions from Sens. Patty Murray (D-WA) and Richard Burr’s (R-NC) pandemic preparedness legislation, including a measure that would require presidential nominees to head the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention be confirmed by the Senate beginning in 2025.
