Upcoming Bill Would Give MedPAC, MACPAC Drug Rebate Data

A bipartisan bill is being introducing Thursday (March 14) to let CMS share drug-pricing data with congressional advisers for Medicare and Medicaid policies. The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) and the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) requested the legislation after CMS refused to share drug rebate data with the commissions, even though the commissioners have access to a broad array of other confidential Medicare and Medicaid data.
