Senators Want FDA Menu Labeling Rule Start Date Pushed Back By A Year

A bipartisan group of 32 senators sent a letter Friday (May 15) asking FDA to delay implementing its menu labeling rule for restaurants and other retail food establishment by a year. The controversial “Nutritional Labeling of Standard Menu Items and Similar Retail Food Establishments,” set to go into effect Dec.1, requires restaurants and similar retail food establishments -- including grocery stores and vending machines -- that are part of a chain with 20 or more locations under the same name...
