Senate health committee Chair Bernie Sanders (I-VT) renewed his resolve to hold up federal health nominees until the administration unveils a new comprehensive plan to lower drug prices that goes beyond the price controls in Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act, and said he will soon introduce bills that align what Americans pay for certain drugs with the cheaper prices in other Western wealthy countries -- a concept he said progressives and former President Donald Trump back -- and allow drug imports from certain countries.
