Returning Tennessee Insurers Request Rate Decreases For 2019

Two of the three insurers returning to the Tennessee Affordable Care Act marketplaces for 2019 have requested rate decreases, and two new carriers are seeking to enter the state’s ACA exchanges. Since the ACA exchanges launched in 2014, rates in Tennessee had risen over 176 percent and this is the first time that insurers in the state have ever requested rate decreases.
