CMS Administrator Mehmet Oz reiterated Wednesday (Oct. 15) that the Trump administration wants Medicare Advantage (MA) plans to voluntarily fix persistent issues in the program -- including controversial prior authorization delays and widespread risk-adjustment “upcoding” practices -- and again warned that CMS could pivot back to pursuing additional regulations or legislation if plans don’t act on their own.
