OMB Reviews Proposal To Separate Part A, Social Security Benefits

The White House Office of Management and Budget is reviewing a CMS proposal to decouple Medicare Part A enrollment and Social Security benefits, which would allow beneficiaries to decline Part A coverage while still accessing their other benefits. The policy sparked concerns among some beneficiary advocates when it was initially included in a White House executive order last October.
