Providers in office-based settings are applauding CMS for recognizing that they face greater costs than physicians working in a hospital setting with organizations including the Office-Based Facilities Association and American College of Radiation Oncology urging the agency to finalize a proposal that reduces facility-based physicians’ reimbursements for overhead costs, and boosts independent physicians’ pay for the first time in years.
