HHS’ Office for Civil Rights updated its controversial tracking technology guidance on Monday (March 18) in an attempt to mollify industry concerns with its 2022 bulletin, which left hospitals vulnerable to OCR and FTC enforcement if they didn’t remove tracking technologies from their public websites and spurred a major lawsuit by the American Hospital Association.
