King Meaningful Use Amendment Could Lead To Increased Focus On Meaningful Use Penalties

Some health IT lobbyists say Rep. Steve King's (R-IA) failed amendment to the 21st Century Cures bill that would have eliminated meaningful use penalties for doctors, but not hospitals, could lead to a bigger effort to get rid of those cuts, though others say flexibility around CMS' all-or-nothing approach to showing meaningful use will likely remain a bigger priority.
