HHS Changes Layoff Numbers, Rehire Stats Given To Hill Staffers

Congressional staffers are getting conflicting information about the number of employees fired and reinstated at HHS, with department officials changing their accounting from the amounts provided during a recent meeting with staffers, and a lawyer representing the Trump administration in court said Wednesday (March 12) he’s unsure whether anyone in government knows the actual total.
