The Senate health committee at a recent hearing reached a general understanding that community health centers will require ongoing financial and workforce-related support after the COVID-19 public health emergency ends on May 11, when certain CHC funding is set to lapse, but ranking Republican Bill Cassidy (R-LA) and other GOP members called on the Government Accountability Office to elucidate current funding sources for CHCs before the committee takes any next steps.
