FDA Staff Could Be Exempt From Shutdown Reductions In Force

With just two days for Congress to reach a short-term funding agreement before appropriations run out Wednesday (Oct. 1), HHS has published a contingency plan which would retain 86% of FDA staff in the event of a government shutdown, and the FDA commissioner says workers may exempted from a plan to lay off additional staff during the funding lapse.
