FDA Relaxes Compounding Regs To Boost Supply Of Children’s Ibuprofen

FDA on Friday (Jan. 20) issued an immediately-in-effect guidance easing restrictions on compounding of certain ibuprofen products used in hospitals and health systems, in an effort to shore up supply of pediatric ibuprofen as the country faces unusually high demand for fever medications. In the meantime, FDA says it is working closely with manufacturers to increase supply of ibuprofen oral suspension products.
