FDA Proposes Allowing Salt Substitutes In 140 Food Products

FDA on Friday (March 24) issued a proposed rule that would allow 140 standardized food products that list salt as a required ingredient to instead use a salt substitute — a move that FDA says will help manufacturers lower the use of sodium in foods, and help consumers lower their sodium intake.
