FDA on Tuesday (Nov. 15) published a final rule that establishes additional recordkeeping requirements for companies that manufacture, process or pack foods, in a bid to improve the traceability of contaminated foods in line with the goals of FDA’s New Era of Smarter Food Safety initiative , which outlines the agency’s goals for improving food safety over the next few years.
