Controversy over a draft local coverage determination for lower limb prostheses, which was tabled but never formally withdrawn, has spurred a congressional probe into the issue and a bipartisan press to hike CMS' oversight of its Medicare contractors. The House oversight committee is pushing CMS to release more information about the draft LCD, and a bipartisan Energy & Commerce duo hopes to slap a moratorium on the LCD until July 2017 and give CMS more power over local coverage policies...
