Doctors decried CMS’ proposed 3.3% pay cuts under the 2024 physician fee schedule Thursday (July 13), with some pointing to the redistributive effects of the complex evaluation and management (E/M) services add-on as an example of why the Medicare physician fee schedule needs to be overhauled and others saying the rule illustrates how Medicare pay for physicians simply isn’t keeping pace with costs.
