CMS, OIG, Office For Civil Rights Ease Use Of Telehealth In Medicare

CMS, the HHS Office of Inspector General and the HHS Office for Civil Rights will be using enforcement discretion and regulatory waivers to ease access to telehealth for Medicare beneficiaries during the COVID-19 pandemic, the administration announced Tuesday (March 17). The first coronavirus response package, signed into law March 6, lets qualified Medicare providers offer telehealth services during a coronavirus national emergency to beneficiaries they have seen within the past three years.
