CMS Lays Groundwork To Revisit 340B Cuts If It Loses Appeal

CMS is signaling a continued effort to lower reimbursement for 340B drugs, even as a court suit over the agency’s earlier cuts continues, by collecting hospital data to back up future reimbursement rates. The agency intends to collect hospitals’ acquisition cost data on 340B drugs, according to a Paperwork Reduction Act notice released Thursday (Sept. 26), after a federal district court struck down the agency’s policy to reduce reimbursement for 340B drugs without first collecting such data.
