CFRB Floats PFS Reforms As Potential Offsets For Physician Pay Overhaul

Lawmakers should modernize the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) by capturing efficiency gains, systematically revaluing mispriced codes, and increasing transparency around billing by nurse practitioners and physician assistants, according to a November brief from the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CFRB), which says these could serve as offsets for any significant PFS reform legislation.
