A bipartisan majority of House lawmakers are urging Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) to include in the expected lame duck package language protecting physicians from CMS’ proposed 2.8% cut to Medicare pay in 2025, and say it is imperative to address other long-standing problems with the current system, including the lack of inflation update, a flawed bonus pay program and what they view as a misguided budget neutrality provision.
