Verma Credits HHS Proposals For Drop In Part D Premiums, Even Though A Key HHS Proposal Would Raise Premiums

CMS announced that, for the second year in a row, the average basic premium for Medicare Part D drug plans is projected to decline. Administrator Seema Verma credited the drop in premiums to the president and HHS secretary, but the administration’s proposal to make plans share rebates at the point of sale is expected to raise Part D premiums.
