Senate Invokes Cloture On Gottlieb Nomination, 57-41

The Senate voted to invoke cloture on Scott Gottlieb's nomination to be FDA commissioner Monday evening (May 8) by a vote of 57-41, allowing for up to 30 more hours of debate before a final confirmation vote is held. If the allotted debate time is used, the confirmation vote would likely be held Wednesday.
