Seattle Holds Off On Enforcing Employer Mandate After Lawsuit

The city of Seattle has agreed to temporarily delay enforcement of the employer mandate required under a recent city initiative after the ERISA Industry Committee (ERIC) filed suit saying the law violates the federal law under which large employers are regulated. Under the agreement, ERIC will not move for an injunction in the case, and Seattle will have additional time to file a response to the challenge.
