Food Industry Urges Congress To Hike FDA Food Safety Funds For Rest Of 2017

The food industry sent a letter to congressional appropriators Wednesday (March 15) urging them to increase FDA's food safety budget for the remainder of fiscal 2017. The letter was sent a day before the president planned to unveil a budget proposal for fiscal 2018 that will scale back funding for non-defense agencies to pay for an increase in military funding.
