E&C Investigates FL Nursing Home; Plans Hearing On HHS Emergency Preparedness

House Energy & Commerce members from both parties on Friday (Oct. 20) requested a detailed briefing from the owner of a nursing home facility in Hollywood, FL, where 14 residents died following Hurricane Irma due to high temperatures. The committee also announced that the E&C oversight panel will hold a hearing Tuesday (Oct. 24) to examine HHS’ response to Hurricanes Irma, Harvey and Maria.
