Connecticut’s Public Option Idea Stalls Out

Intense lobbying by Cigna has apparently worked to stall Connecticut’s recent agreement to establish a state-level public plan, but the insurance giant is denying the state comptroller’s suggestion that the insurer threatened to move out of state if the policy were to move forward. Gov. Ned Lamont confirmed in a Wednesday (May 29) statement that more work is needed to get the proposal past the finish line.
