CMS Extends Artificial Intelligence Challenge Timeline

CMS announced Thursday (Aug. 1) that it will push back the timeline for its artificial intelligence (AI) health outcomes challenge after the agency received more than 300 applications. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) announced the challenge in March. It offers $1.65 million to developers to improve health outcomes using AI and allows them to use Medicare claims data.
