CBO To Score BCRA Without Cruz Amendment

The Congressional Budget Office is poised to score the updated version of the Senate GOP Better Reconciliation Act, according to an announcement on CBO’s website, but that estimate of bill’s effect on coverage and government spending will not include the so-called Cruz amendment. That amendment, named after its author Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), would let insurance companies ignore federal insurance regulations for all but one of the policies they offer. -- John Wilkerson
