BPC To Study Rural Health Challenges

The Bipartisan Policy Center is developing federal and state policies to improve health care in remote areas, the group announced Monday (Aug. 21). The project focuses on the upper Midwest, including Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. BPC staff are researching rural provider workforce and training needs; intrastate and interstate telemedicine, including access, the speed of broadband and reimbursement; and models for payment and delivery for critical access hospitals, rural health clinics and other rural providers...
