503B Compounder Recalls Products Due To Potential Microbial Contamination

Another 503B compounder is initiating a recall over possible microbial contamination of some of its sterile injectables. The compounder, Premier Pharmacy Labs, has been cited by FDA multiple times for similar issues. “Microbial contamination was detected during routine testing of subsequent unreleased product lots due to interaction between the product syringe and tamper evident container closure, which may result in the potential introduction of microorganisms into the products,” FDA explained in its April 11 recall notice.
