15 States Get Grants To Expand Substance Abuse Treatment In Medicaid

CMS awarded $48.5 million in planning grants to 15 state Medicaid agencies to devise ways to increase the capacity of providers who treat people with substance use disorders, CMS announced Wednesday (Sept. 18). The states can use the money to assess treatment needs, recruit and train Medicaid providers that offer treatment or recovery services for substance use disorders, and increase reimbursements for those providers, CMS said.
