OMB Clears Prior Auth Rule That Could Cut MA Prior Auth Bill’s Cost

The White House Office of Management and Budget on Thursday (Dec. 1) cleared a highly anticipated proposed rule that would streamline prior authorization for Medicare Advantage, exchange, and Medicaid and CHIP managed care plans that some lobbyists and a congressional aide said could decrease the projected cost of a bipartisan MA prior authorization reform bill they are optimistic will pass by the end of the year.
