On behalf of older people and people with disabilities represented by the undersigned organizations, we urge you not to support H.R. 2729, The 21st Century Medicare Act. The proposal fails to provide needed prescription drug relief to older persons and persons with disabilities and contains radical restructuring measures that weaken the traditional Medicare program. Fatal flaws in the bill include the following:
