In a new study conducted by researchers at Tufts-New England Medical Center, the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, and the Commonwealth Fund reports that nearly one quarter of seniors from eight states skipped medications or didn't fill prescriptions because of high drug costs in 2001.

Together Rx LLC and the Pharmacy Care Alliance Have entered into a letter of intent to reach millions of low-income Medicare beneficiaries with information about drug savings through the Together Rx Prescription Savings Program. The letter comes just months after seven pharmaceutical companies, in conjunction with Together Rx, announced a free, easy-to-use pharmacy card with point-of-sale savings on more than 150 medicines.

HHS APPROVES EXPANDING PHARMACY BENEFITS TO MARYLAND SENIORS

Program to Provide Prescription Drug for 90,000 Maryland Residents

HHS Secretary Tommy G. Thompson today approved a Maryland program to provide Medicaid prescription drug benefits to low-income seniors. State officials estimate that as many as 90,000 Maryland residents may be aided by the new program.
