HHS Secretary Tommy G. Thompson, Department of Labor Secretary Elaine Chao and a representative from the Department of Education will hold a news conference to announce the availability of grant funds to help address the nursing shortage.

The agencies also will announce a memorandum of understanding to implement a coordinated, interagency initiative to address the severe shortage of nurses in the United States.
