The House Ways and Means Committee plans to hold a hearing May 1 that will discuss ways to modernize the cost-sharing structure of Medicare. Calling the system "out-dated" and "difficult to navigate," committee members are seeking to simplify the requirements for co-payments and deductibles as well as find ways to reform Medigap coverage.
