CDC: Exposed CO Providers Didn’t Meet PPE Recs, But Didn’t Get Monkeypox

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said only 23% of providers in Colorado exposed to a monkeypox infection while caring for a patient from May through July wore the recommended personal protective equipment -- and while none of those providers contracted the disease, the study says providers need to be made aware of CDC’s guidelines, particularly primary and urgent care settings. CDC suggests the study could “guide future updates to PPE recommendations and risk classification in health care settings.”...
